I started my sheet metal career using CadKey & a plugin called “Pro-Fold.” We worked in a wireframe view, coloring bend lines brown.One day a sales guy stopped by with the "future of CAD." My boss was sold and was the only one with a seat. Every time he got up from his computer I would jump on & rip through models. It was not long after that I got my first seat of SOLIDWORKS 2004!
My experience early on was unique, I would see over 200 sheet metal parts a day while I was working at RAPID, a sheet metal & machined part manufacturer. In 2012, I lead a small team in launching the first-ever sheet metal instant quote app inside of SOLIDWORKS.
So what's the big deal?
Well, I am super proud and excited to announce that I have launched my own precision sheet metal fabrication company. Approved Sheet Metal. I am carrying on the SOLIDWORKS tradition in my manufacturing career by leveraging the power of SOLIDWORKS to quote and program all of our sheet metal parts.
I love teaching and sharing my experiences with CAD. It's so much fun to see the models get transformed into real parts day in day out!
